LINE / Sustainable forest management
PhD in Terrestrial Ecology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and the Centre for Ecological Research and Forestry Applications (CREAF, 2022). Graduated in Forest Engineering from the University of Lleida (UdL, 2015).
His research has focused on the role of the climatic niche in forest dynamics, particularly how different niche indices help explain both climate change–induced forest decline processes and the post-disturbance resilience of forest communities. At the CSIC’s Desertification Research Centre (CIDE-CSIC), he studied how climate and species’ bioclimatic characterization shape plant–plant interactions, and in turn how these interactions affect the dynamics of woody plant communities in temperate systems. In recent years, he has combined research with teaching in vegetation analysis, cartography, and conservation biology in undergraduate and master’s programs at UAB. His current work examines how different management scenarios influence biodiversity and ecological functioning in forest and agroforestry systems, as well as their vulnerability to wildfires.
