PhD in Biology from the University of Alicante (2016). Specialist in the monitoring and study of species, most of them threatened, using innovative tools such as passive acoustic monitoring and automatic species detection, including machine learning techniques, drones, satellite imagery, camera trapping, and metabarcoding.

He has worked in various research institutions, both in Spain and abroad, on topics related to wildlife monitoring and conservation. He is a member of the IUCN Species Monitoring Specialist Group and of the Spanish Committee of the IUCN. He is the author of more than 80 SCI articles and has delivered over 70 lectures and presentations, most of them as an invited speaker or at international conferences. He has coordinated numerous contracts with public administrations and projects funded through competitive calls, both national and international (e.g., Generación de Conocimiento, LIFE, Biodiversa, Biodiversa+).
