PhD in Biology from the University of Barcelona.

His research focuses on the ecology and biology of threatened species, with a particular emphasis on understanding how birds respond to environmental and anthropogenic changes such as agricultural and hunting activities. He has studied birds in relation to agricultural intensification—one of the main current drivers of biodiversity loss—using approaches including habitat selection, landscape ecology, reproductive biology, conservation effectiveness assessment, demography, and population viability analyses of endangered species.
He has contributed to drafting recovery plans for threatened species, improving agri-environmental measures within the Common Agricultural Policy, and identifying high nature value farming systems in Catalonia. He has participated in competitive national and international research projects, including Biodiversa Eranet, serving as principal investigator in one of them. He has also been commissioned by public administrations to conduct population viability analyses of endangered bird species.
He is a member of the consolidated ECOCONS Research Group (Ecology, Behavior, and Biodiversity Conservation). As a result of his scientific activity, he has co-authored five collective works (books, manuals, or atlases), published 38 articles in peer-reviewed journals (H-index = 17), and co-supervised two doctoral theses.
