Per aconseguir aquest objectiu treballem a partir de tres programes: la gestió forestal multifuncional, la dinàmica del paisatge i la biodiversitat, i la bioeconomia, la salut i la governança.
La recerca desenvolupada en aquests programes es centra en aspectes clau com l'equilibri de funcions del medi natural, l'adaptació al canvi climàtic i la competitivitat al llarg de les cadenes de valor. Part de l'activitat realitzada als programes es transfereix a través de la societat FBS.
