PhD in geography from Stockholm University, Sweden, and master degree in cognitive science from Linköping University, Sweden.
His research is mainly about environmental perception in relation to human health and wellbeing, focused on the development of evidence-based planning and design tools (Stoltz 2019; Stoltz & Grahn 2021).
He has worked with landscape analyses and epidemiological data, linking perceptions of nature to human health and wellbeing in both urban settings (Stoltz & Schaffer 2018) and forests (Stoltz et al. 2016). A main focus is on developing forest indicators for perceived qualities supporting recreation and restoration from stress and attention fatigue.
At CTFC, he is engaged in the development of an online platform supporting forest restoration actions in European forests as part of the SUPERB project (https://forest-restoration.eu/ )
